L’assemblea nazionale “I lavoratori non sono carne da macello, tenutasi ieri, 30 marzo, è stato uno straordinario successo. Vi hanno assistito, naturalmente on line, centinaia di lavoratori e di lavoratrici e decine sono stati gli interventi, tutti interessanti.
L’assemblea ha lanciato anche un appello ai lavoratori di tutto il pianeta, perché solo l’azione unitaria della classe operaia potrà sconfiggere l’emergenza sanitaria attuale e quella economica e sociale che sta irrompendo nelle nostre vite.
Tutti i dati economici riguardo l’impatto economico della pandemia di Covid-19 sono sufficientemente chiari da costringere la borghesia a parlare ormai di “depressione economica”. Le previsioni dei più prestigiosi istituti finanziari, pur variando di settimana in settimana, rendono impossibile mascherare la verità attraverso i classici sotterfugi con cui i ben pagati economisti sono soliti ingannare la gente sulla situazione reale dell’economia.

Retired Mexican General Cienfuegos, who served as Minister of Defence in Peña Nieto’s cabinet in 2012-18, has been cleared of all charges. He had been arrested in the US in October on serious accusations of drug trafficking. This angered and alarmed the Mexican military, fearful that the trial would disclose the army's wider involvement in the drug trade. The generals pressed the left-wing López Obrador government to secure repatriation. After heated back-channel negotiations, the US attorney general decided to release him under the pretext that he would be prosecuted in Mexico. Unsurprisingly, this has not happened.
